Why do you need a skin test?

Why do you need a skin test?  You colour your hair all the time.

At Sheen it is a requirement to follow the rules and regulations of the manufacturers who supply our colour for the safety and wellbeing of our clients.

It is very rare for a reaction to occur but if it does it has the potential to be very severe and can even cause hospitalization – this is a risk that we are not willing to take.

Even if someone has been having their hair coloured for years either at home or in salon, the ingredients in colour products differ and change and therefore skin testing is essential.

All new clients to Sheen or new to a colour service are requested to attend a 15 minute consultation where we listen to your  hair goals, analyse hair and scalp conditions and perform a skin test 48 hours before your appointment.

Please note you may also be required to have a skin test if your previous Sheen colour service has exceeded six months or you are changing colour services.
